The 2017 BMW 5 Series is an IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus

When premium performance is demanded, advanced safety is required. BMW meets the need for safe thrills on the Seattle roads with the 2017 BMW 5 Series. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) deemed the 5 Series a Top Safety Pick Plus, the highest safety rating available. The 2 Series and 3 Series were also awarded the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus designation, and we're happy to add another BMW vehicle to the list.

What does it mean to be an IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus? It means that a vehicle received "good" ratings in five crash tests, a rating of "advanced" or "superior" for front crash prevention, and a rating of "acceptable" or "good" for headlights. Along with excelling in the five crash tests, the BMW 5 Series landed "superior" front crash prevention and "good" headlight ratings.

It's no surprise that the BMW 5 Series excels in terms of safety. Its lightweight high-strength steel, aluminum, and magnesium frame not only improve performance, but also its ability to protect. Meanwhile, advanced safety features like Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning help you prevent accidents before they happen.

So take to the road confident of your safety in the new BMW 5 Series. Browse our new BMW inventory, and come into BMW Seattle for a test drive!
